All the scrambling has meant less blog posting than we’d like. The British Columbia coast is so beautiful and we have so many good friends here. Continue Reading

Posted on May 4, 2022June 9, 2022 by Mike

We had a number of boat projects on the “to-do” list this winter as we hunkered down at the dock, and I’m going to try and put together some blog posts to cover them as we often get asked for details on these things from other sailors. Some of these were inside the boat and Continue Reading

The last few months have sped by, and we are excited to be off the dock and back to life on the anchor. We stayed on Salt Spring Island until the last week of January, and then spent a few days sailing around the Southern Gulf Islands before heading over to Vancouver. We were fortunate Continue Reading

Happy New Year 2022!

It’s been a quiet set of holidays for us, but an enjoyable one. A rare white Christmas descended on BC this year, and it has made for some beautiful days and walks in the snow around Salt Spring Island. The boat has kept us warm and cozy, despite some struggles with condensation and humidity this Continue Reading

Taking advantage of our medium-term home base, we traveled east to Ottawa to visit family and friends for the first time since before the pandemic. It was long overdue and wonderful Continue Reading

As I write this, it is our third night at the dock in Comox. Tomorrow we’ll be on our way, and it’s been a fun visit. We managed to connect with a couple of friends from Vancouver – one who had moved here recently, and another who (by chance) was passing through. The reason we Continue Reading
