Out of the boat yard, into the Marina

After four and a half months in the Shelter Island Boat Yard, we moved Innisfree to North Vancouver at the beginning of June. The existing dodger and bimini (cockpit roof) had decayed from age and sun exposure, so we are having a whole new enclosure built. Several summers of sailing on the Salish Sea have taught us that rain, fog, and cooler temperatures are never far away, even in the middle of summer. This new enclosure will turn the cockpit into a more functional space, and allow us to stay toasty warm even on those cold, foggy West Coast nights. Gozzards have a spacious cockpit, so it will be a huge advantage to be able to use the space even when the weather turns cooler.
